We are a small collective of local business owners pooling our tech resources and helping each other find support online in this time of need.
Over 25% of small businesses are not expected to survive this healthcare and economic crisis and will be forced to close permanently. Our small businesses are an important part of our local culture, and it’s in our power to save them.
Help support your local community by buying gift cards, shopping online, and spreading the word so that your favourite shops will be around for years to come.
Our team of graduates from Recode Your Future Program supported by IT professionals from West Coast Foundation and IT in Canada will help businesses that are not online, get online. Services will be provided for free, supported languages includes Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish, Vietnamese and Arabic.
CodeCast, ComIT.org, and West CoastTechnology Foundation have joined forces to launch a tech-focused job-training initiative to create new opportunities and options for youth and career changers in Western Canada. To start, 25 people will be invited to participate in the pilot project being delivered at The Network Hub’s locations in Vancouver and Nanaimo. We are also looking at possibilities of partnering with local organizations in smaller cities to create virtual classrooms to deliver workshop in real-time.

With the beach, surf, and great outdoors as its backdrop, one of Canada’s most distinctive destinations is looking to build a coworking community for both locals and visitors. It would be a first for Tofino, a village of about two thousand with double the numbers in the summer. The world-class town is collaborating with The Network Hub through WCTIF and innovative hub consultants Thrive Junction to further develop the concept with a crowd-sourcing survey.
